City of Austin ECAD Audit

ECAD audit in Austin, Texas Home

ECAD Audit complies with the City of Austin's Energy Conservation and Disclosure Ordinance.

The City of Austin's Energy and Conservation Disclosure (ECAD) ordinance has provisions for energy auditing both Single-Family homes and Multifamily properties. 1st Choice Energy offers both these audits at competitive pricing and with quick turn around.

Single-Family home audits consist of a visual inspection of the home plus a ductwork leakage test. The audit checks four major areas for energy efficiency:
  1. Duct leakage using duct blower technology
  2. Adequate insulation in the attic
  3. Proper solar shading of windows that face south, east, and west
  4. Adequate weather stripping of doors and plumbing penetrations

The energy efficiency of your home is evaluated and a report generated detailing the findings of the audit. Included in the report are recommended improvements which will provide a more energy efficient and comfortable home. Neither the seller or buyer are obligated to implement any of the recommended improvements.
